Adobe Creative Suite 3, commonly abbreviated to CS3, is the successor to Creative Suite 2 / 2.3. CS3 was announced on March 27, 2007, and shipped on April 16, 2007.[1][2] CS3 integrated applications from the former Macromedia company, which had been acquired by Adobe. It is the first version of the Creative Suite series to have more than just the Standard and Premium editions. It was updated to Creative Suite 3.3 and succeeded by Adobe Creative Suite 4.

There are six editions of Adobe Creative Suite 3: Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, Web Standard, Production Premium, and Master Collection. Supported systems[]

Creative Suite 3 supports PCs with at least an Intel Penitum 4 (1.4 GHz recommended for standard definition video editing, or 3.4 GHz for high definition video editing) or faster processor, running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or later. Macs required a PowerPC G4, G5, or a multi-core Intel processor (Premiere Pro CS3, Encore CS3, and Soundbooth CS3 support Intel only) running Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later.[3]

Compatibility[]

As the CS3 applications were 32-bit, they are not compatible with 64-bit-only operating systems, such as macOS 10.15 "Catalina" and later. Some security adjustments may be required for use in macOS 10.14 "Mojave".[4]

End of support[]

In July 2017, activation servers for CS3 applications were shut down. Registered users who wished to continue using these applications after that date could use their valid serial number to download a new installer from Adobe that could be activated without contacting a server.[5] In December 2019, Adobe stopped providing CS3 downloads entirely.[6][7]
