Adobe Illustrator 1 is the first commercial release of Adobe Illustrator, released for Macintosh in January 1987.
History[]
Development began in 1985, starting from Adobe Systems' in-house PostScript font and graphics editor, under the codename "Picasso".[1] Version 1.1 shipped on March 19, 1987.[2]
