Adobe LiveCycle was a suite of server-based Java EE applications from Adobe to automate business processes for enterprises and government agencies.
Product history[]
The LiveCycle line began as a key component of Adobe Document Services,[1] which was announced on June 8, 2004.[2][3] Electronic forms for LiveCycle were developed by Indigo Pacific,[4] founded by the staff that originally created the technology that became Adobe Central Output Server.[5]
- Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite (ES) was released in June 2007.
- Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite 2 (ES2) was released in October 2009.
- Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite 2.5 (ES2.5) was released on October 25, 2010.
- Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite 3 (ES3) was released on March 13, 2012.[6]
- Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite 4 (ES4) was released in February 2013. Development was supported by LiveCycle Workbench, based on Eclipse.

In 2014, LiveCycle was superseded by Adobe Experience Manager Forms.[3] Core support for LiveCycle ES4 ended in March 2018.[7]
