Adobe Soundbooth is a digital audio editor by Adobe Systems for Mac OS X and Windows XP and Vista. Adobe has described it as being "in the spirit of SoundEdit 16 and Cool Edit 2000". Soundbooth is not replacing Adobe Audition, rather creating a product for creative professionals who do not specialize in audio. Audition will still be available for audio professionals, and will continue to be developed. Due to Intel-specific code, Adobe has stated that the Mac OS X version will only be available for machines using Intel processors.
It was replaced by Adobe Audition in Adobe Creative Suite 5.5.
Criticism[]
Many users have commented on the lack of simple features that were found in programs like SoundEdit 16 and Cool Edit Pro. For example, the ability to create a new file or to "reverse" a sound.
