Adobe FrameViewer 5.1
FrameViewer 5, formerly FrameReader 5, was a version of the FrameReader / FrameViewer read-only applications for viewing FrameMaker documents.
Product history[]
In June 1995, Adobe Systems agreed to buy out Frame Technology for $500 million.[1] FrameReader 5.0 would be the last version to be released by Frame Technology in September 1995.[2] The acquisition by Adobe was completed in October 1995.[3]
The first rebranded version was Adobe FrameViewer 5.1, which shipped on February 13, 1996.[4] The Windows version of 5.1 was still branded Adobe FrameReader at the time.[5] Adobe FrameViewer 5.5, released on September 2, 1997, was the last version for Macintosh.[6]
