
The 2001 Macromedia International User Conference (UCON 2001) was held April 10 to 12, 2001 by Macromedia at the New York Hilton in New York City, New York. The theme was "Champion the User Experience".[1] This was the final UCON as it was succeeded by Macromedia DevCon in the following October.[2]

Keynote addresses were presented by Macromedia chairman and CEO Rob Burgess, president Kevin Lynch, and new CTO Jeremy Allaire.[3]
New announcements included Macromedia Director 8.5. With Macromedia's recent merger with Allaire Corporation,[1] the Allaire Developers Conference became Macromedia DevCon 2001, held October 21 to 24, 2001.[2]
